Vegetarian Streaky Bacon

This project was from a referral by Handtmann UK Ltd, who had been asked if they could provide the facilities. The product was needed to provide a UK replacement for an import. Design was by replicating a natural bacon product and then changing the white/red mix to meet market criteria. The biggest challenges were that the product had to be no larger than 35mm X 165mm and finding the correct thickness of stainless steel for the housing to counteract the high internal pressures. The project took 20 weeks from start to completion.
